Communities for Children

The Alice Springs Transformation Plan has committed $750,000 in funding over three years to the $3million Communities for Children program (C4C).

Play-Park-mRun by Anglicare NT, Communities for Children is a prevention and early intervention support service for families with children up to 12 years of age who are vulnerable and at-risk. C4C is a locally-driven initiative, with other local organisations are funded by C4C to deliver a range of programs in the Alice Springs Township and surrounding town camps.

These programs aim to support the best outcome for children and their families through building confident parents and healthy, happy children.

Play-Park-Boys-mIn collaboration with service providers, C4C have started a monthly ‘Play in the Park’ activity at the D.D Smith Park opposite the court house. Healthy snacks and activities are provided to young kids spending time with their families in the park.

Play in the Park provides a welcoming, safe environment for kids to engage in fun learning activities. The focus of Play in the Park is for families to be able to engage with service providers in Alice Springs in a less formal environment, ensuring that the number one priority is for kids to be engaged and have fun.

Service providers are welcome to participate and can contact C4C on 8951 8000 for further details.

Play in the Park takes place on the first Wednesday of every month (unless it is school holidays).
